Rotomolding Indiana

Indiana RotomoldingOur rotomolding Indiana process is a three-stage, no-pressure, plastic molding procedure that offers an affordable manufacturing method for producing large or little seamless, lightweight, stress-free, one-piece, hollow plastic components. The molding process dates back hundreds of years to the Swiss use of the method to make hollow chocolate eggs.

The rotomolding method can be used to make hollow items of any size and of any desired shape. This process fabricates pieces which are otherwise virtually impossible to fabricate by any other techniques. The process helps to produce large products with minimum design constraints at comparatively low mold costs.

It’s Done in Four Steps:

1.Charging Mold
A pre-determined amount of polymer powder is placed in the mold and loaded into the oven. Materials used are Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, and Polyvinyl Chloride

2.Heating & Fusion
Inside the oven, the mold is rotated at a slow speed, allowing the melted material to spread and stick to the walls of the mold. As the mould becomes hotter the resin powder begins to soften more and stick to the inner walls of the mold.

3.Cooling
When the mold is ready, it is cooled either by air or water.

4.Unloading/Demolding
Once the mold is cooled, it is opened and the product is removed.

The Most Important Part in Rotomolding

Is the mold itself! Its interior surface has to be completely nonporous. Due to this reason, cast aluminum molds are the most frequently used molds in the rotational molding industry. Cast aluminum is cost effective and has good heat transfer characteristics. The only problem with cast aluminum is, it can be easily damaged.

Benefits You Get From R & R Technologies.

Flexibility

Indiana rotational molding methodOur Indiana Rotomolding process allows design flexibly into the incorporating of contours, metal inserts, flanges, and detail logos. It can also manufacture a seamless product such as tanks since the molten plastic is transformed into the final product with one step. With this molding process, you will be able to produce many different components at the same time. It helps you reduce the production cost.

This process is very flexible customized products. You can change the colors of your product easily and quickly. This process allows you to add the pigments and dyes to he plastic resins any time, before they are fed into the mold so that you don’t need to clear out the lines when changing the colors. You can also add other additives like UV light inhibitors to maintain its color consistency in the sun.

Integrity

Rotomolding can also create a product with consistent wall thickness since the plastic is pressed by the same centrifugal forces so that the plastic will be applied uniformly. With uniform thickness, this molding process creates the product, virtually stress-free. It has no thin areas which is susceptible to breaking or bursting during use. With this consistency, it is also able to produce a strong finished product.

Low Cost

Another benefit is the low cost. The tool and equipment for this molding process is available at low cost since they don’t have to withstand high pressure which allows you to save money. Compared to other molding processes, rotomolding can also be easily designed and built. It thus has a low production costs.
